DANCE TIP - DANCING RUMBA
In American Rumba one of the keys is the frame connection you
have with your partner. Unlike smooth dances, in Rumba, as
well as in all Latin dances, you want to have your dance frame
out in front of you, in front of your chest. Think of yourself as
holding a beach ball together with the inside of your elbows
Make sure your eyes and chin are up, and your shoulders are
down and back.
Rumba should have staccato timing. There should be no brushing
of the feet as there is in Foxtrot, any brushing at all should
be with the thighs. The count for Rumba is "Slow (1,2), quick (3),
quick (4)." Many people do a "tap" or a "brush" on
the first step
-- which is the "Slow (1) -- when, in fact, it should be a
distinct step, and the action should finish through the hips
and thighs, without any brushing of the feet.

THIS MONTH'S JOKE - Last Request
Two men, sentenced to death in an electric chair at the same
time, were led down to the room in which they would meet their
maker. The priest gave them their last rites, the formal speech
was given by the warden, and the final prayer had been said
among the participants.
The warden, turning to the 1st man, solemnly asked, "Do you have
a last request?" The man replied, "Yes sir, I do. I love to dance
and love dance music, so could you please play the Macarena for
me one last time?" "Certainly," replied the warden.
He turned to the 2nd man and asked, "Well, what about you? What
is your final request?" "Please," said the condemned man, "kill
me first."
